Warhammer 40,000: Darktide: An Explanation of Penance Points

Penances are tasks that players can accomplish in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide that range in length from short to long. You can obtain them by just playing the game, investing time in a certain class, or taking on specified tasks while battling for your life in the depths of Hive Atoma.

Apart from the cosmetics that can be obtained by finishing Penances, every one of these mini-tasks contributes to your final score. A penance can be worth one or more points, and many only award points without any beautification. What use do Penance Points serve when all the work to earn them has been completed?

How To Verify Your Warhammer 40,000 Penances in Darktide

When you’re on the Mourningstar, you may always view your Penances from the menu, both finished and unfinished. While reading the book beside the Mission Hub entrance also brings you to the same screen, it’s usually simpler to navigate from the menu.

Penances are categorized and range from normal gaming achievements to boss battles and beyond. Additionally, each class has a unique set of Penances that must be earned through mastery of that character’s skills.

Redacted Penances, which let you get more makeup and Penance Points, are at the bottom of the categories list. These are typically far more challenging than standard penances!

Penance Points: What Do They Do?

The top-left corner of the Penances window displays your current Penance Points, wreathed in laurels. Penance Points have no bearing on the game, as much as it’s entertaining to see the number rise. They are only indicators of how much you have played the game and whether you have made an effort to finish all of the tasks. They’re therefore ideal for having light-hearted competitions with your buddies to see who can accrue the most points!
